Long Story Short - A Night of Comedic Storytelling Hosted by Megan Gazzo
Long Story Short - A Night of Comedic Storytelling Hosted by Megan Gazzo
The theme for this Long Story Short will be "Firsts". Have a funny story about the day you saw your first pube? How about your first kiss? First wet dream? Were you a headgear kid? Did sex ed fill in all of the gaps for you , or did you have a lot to figure out on your own your first time? Come share a story with us about your growing pains- or just firsts that you could never forget. Let's laugh together as we take a cruise down memory lane. LSS is a sex positive, judgement -free zone so please feel free to share barre none as you would re-telling your story to a friend. Also get there promptly because seats fill up fast. Thank you!

Things to consider for storytellers....

We, as the viewers , want to connect with you. It's up to you to hook us in! Have a great first line that sets the scene and grabs our attention. Make us care. Engage us with your observations or perspective on how you see situations. Of course most stories rely on the circling it back for the wrap up. What is the moral of your story? How did you end up? Triumphant? Befuddled? Lost? Did you learn something? Know your story well so you can have fun with it. And most of course- MAKE US LAUGH!

- The story has gots to be TRUE ( no funny biz in that neck of the woods folks)
- The story has gots to be ON THEME ( This one being "Firsts")
-It must be your story to tell, not someone else's ( your experience)
- The story has gots to be in the time frame ( 7 minutes and you'll get signals when that time is approaching)
- We think it goes without saying, however, no racial slurs, hate speech, making fun of other cultures. Humor can take us so many different places - it's just important to stay respectful on that journey. Tell your story from your perspective in your accent- not another's.
-NO NOTES this has gots to be you telling a story! Don't bring your notecards on stage- it disconnects you from the audience.

What we aren't looking for :

A stand up routine, an essay, a rant, a lecture .

We really hope you participate! And if you aren't participating, just come through , hang out , and listen! Participate by being an active listener!
