GOT TALENT? COMPETE FOR A CHANCE TO WIN $5,000!

OVERVIEW
Think you’ve got talent? Revolution Hall presents Capital Region’s Got Talent (CRGT), the area’s biggest talent competition. Beginning in September, Revolution Hall will hold auditions for Capital Region’s Got Talent, with the finalists competing for a chance to win $5,000, a demo recording, and an opportunity to perform at Revolution Hall! All contestants will receive an event T-shirt, sticker, and a pair of tickets to a future show.


CAPITAL REGION’S GOT TALENT IS FREE TO AUDIENCE MEMBERS! Capital Region come out and support your local talent! CRGT contestants are sure to put on a great show. All genres will be supported and represented during this contest. We need you, the audience, to show your support and also to help to cast the vote on your favorite contestants during the audition and competition events. Contestants bring your rooting section, whether it be your family, friends, or co-workers, to support you during CRGT!

RULES FOR CONTESTANTS
CRGT is open to singers or songwriters with or without instrumentation
Individuals aged 18 and above are eligible to apply
Individuals must show a commitment to the event dates
Sorry no bands


HOW TO APPLY
IMPORTANT: There are three application deadlines. To apply for the September 10th audition date, applications must be received by September 7, 2009. To apply for the September 17th audition date, applications must be received by September 15, 2009. To apply for the September 24th audition date, applications must be received by September 22, 2009.

Once you have paid the application fee, download and complete the application forms and e-mail to gottalent@revolutionhall.com
Applicants are encouraged to create a YouTube video using the www.youtube.com online video platform. The video must contain an introduction including your name and the song to be performed along with your performance. This YouTube video must be tagged with the following title “Capital Region’s Got Talent”. YOUTUBE VIDEO FOR APPLICATION
We have created some technical information below for creating a basic YouTube video for the application process. Also, please view the YouTube tutorial video provided below and if you still need help, please contact us at (518) 274-0553.

Getting started:
Make sure you create a YouTube video profile and channel.
Make a video of yourself (using the above mentioned guidelines in “How to Apply”)
Upload your video using the following YouTube tutorial: Click here to view the video tutorial
Tag the video “Capital Region’s Got Talent.” For information on how to tag a video: click here

*Note: your video must meet our uploading requirements: no larger than 2GB and no more than 10 minutes in length. If your video does not meet these requirements you will need to re-edit the video file on your computer then upload the new file to our site. YouTube accepts video files from most digital cameras and camcorders, and cell phones in the .AVI, .MOV, .WMV, and .MPG file formats.


AUDITIONS
CRGT first round auditions will be held September 10 and 17, with a final round of auditions to be held on September 24. Contestants may select a preference to audition either September 10 or 17, however audition dates are not guaranteed.

Contestants will be notified of their audition date and check-in time. Contestants from the first round of auditions may be invited back for a second audition, which will be held on September 24, 2009.

Contestants will be given two minutes to perform their song of choice. Contestants may perform a-capella, with their own instrumentation, use the Revolution Hall in-house piano player or perform with a pre-recorded music track. If using the Revolution Hall piano player, sheet music must be provided.

Contestants will perform for a panel of music professional judges and audience members. Audience is open and free to the public. The audience will also be able to cast their choice for favorite performance during the audition.

Finalists from the auditions will be announced the following day on September 25, 2009. These finalists will go on to compete for a chance to win $5,000!



FINAL COMPETITION
CRGT final competition will be held October 1, 8 and 16. The final competition will be held in front of a panel of judges and a live audience (free and open to the public). The contest will include elimination rounds leading up to the final selection of the winner on October 16, 2009.

Theme nights have been scheduled for contestants. Contestants must select their songs of choice for the following nights and categories:

October 1: 80’s Tunes
October 8: The Music of the Beatles
October 16: Contestant’s Originals

Contestants will be given up to four minutes to perform their song of choice. Contestants must select two songs to perform each night during the final competition. Contestants may perform a-capella, with their own instrumentation, use the Revolution Hall in-house piano player or perform with a pre-recorded music track. If using the Revolution Hall piano player, sheet music must be provided.
